Meredith Lucius is a Haitian American illustrator
Born in Haiti but raised in sunny Florida, she witnessed not only a mostly homogeneous black nation but also the vibrant cultures and racially diverse environment of Miami and later Tampa. The experience has informed her art and her determination to bring more representation in books and animated shows/films to better represent America's melting pot. Her passions primarily focus on encouraging equity through inclusive book illustration, and her first love, character design. She also works on murals from time to time to take advantage of a larger canvas.
